Winner Winner! Team Awesome takes it!

St. Charles City-County Library District team captain Laura Pirondi accepts the trophy for our 2013 winners 'Team Awesome'.

Yes, that trophy will travel.  Your team could win it next year.  But first, you will have to beat out this crew...
This is an early picture of the crowd that attended the MLA presentation "The Joy of Blogging" and many of them seem to be ready to unseat any/all of us for the trophy.

Which brings us to our final results for our 2013 season:
1.  St. Charles City-County Library District - "Team Awesome"
2.  Missouri River Regional Library - "River Readers"
3.  Jefferson County Library
4.  SCC - St. Charles Community College
5.  MOSL - Missouri State Library
6.  Joplin Public Library
7.  Brentwood Public Library
8.  Fontbonne University

Congrats to all and good luck capturing the trophy for our 2014 season.  Stay tuned for a scoring survey and other new ideas.

Tick tock - our season is coming to a close

Our reading season ends in a few days

Remember back in December when we decided to shift our competition season to allow us to award a trophy at the MLA conference in October?  Well this is only an approximation of how awesome that trophy will be.  Ours will be all gold...as in MADE FROM GOLD and will be taller than any 2 librarians standing on each others shoulders.*  AND it will be awarded to our winning team early in October.

So what does this mean for you?  Finish up any blogging about books you have read from Jan - end of Aug.  Team captains:  The scoring worksheet will be available soon.  All: Start heavy reading rotation September 1 as we head into our first FULL year under the new system. Back to school is nothing compared to back to the MISSOURI BOOK CHALLENGE!

*or be as grand and large as we can afford.
